Washington Tribe to Open Casino Resort in Phases

Washington’s Kalispel Tribe has always wanted to build a gaming project on its reservation. It is now working on a $10.5 million casino and economic development on the reservation that is opening in phases.

The Kalispel Tribe of Washington, which operates the Northern Quest Resort and Casino, is building a $10.5 million casino and economic development project on the reservation that will be opened in phases this year.

The project, Kalispel Park is being built on 60 acres, with a casino, gas station, market, RV park and storage facility. It will also rent “tiny” houses. The market, RV park and storage will open this summer. The casino will open a few months later.

The casino will have 100 slot machines, a restaurant, bar and banquet area.

Chairman Glen Nenema told Indianz, “We’ve always had a dream of developing more here.”

The existing casino, which was built 60 miles from the reservation, in Airway Heights, in the Spokane metro area, is also being expanded in a $20 million project that will include more family-oriented entertainment, a retail outlet and expanded food court.
