Washington’s Colville Tribes Await Land Transfer

Washington’s Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation are waiting for the federal government to put 194 acres the tribe has purchased in Pasco into trust for a casino. The Bureau of Indian Affairs is expected to take this action within two to five years.

Such a casino has a potential to make a big impact on the Tri-Cities region of Washington that includes Kennewick, Pasco, and Richland. The tribes expect such a casino to employ more workers than the other three casinos in the area combined, as many as 2,000. Those casinos are in Omak, Coulee Dam and Manson.
