Cherokee Casino Will Rogers Downs in Claremore, Oklahoma recently completed a million, 43,000 square foot renovation project at its racetrack and casino. General Manager Rusty Stamps said, “The feedback we’ve received from our guests made the investment worth it. The upgrades offer a high quality experience for new guests, while our loyal customer base is overjoyed with the improvements to their favorite horseracing facility.”
Improvements include a redesigned gaming floor with 250 electronic games, plus an upgraded dance floor and entertainment venue and a bar. The popular simulcast viewing area features numerous large screen TVs and seating for more than 100.
The Horseshoe banquet area can accommodate 150 additional people for major events like the recent Kentucky Derby. The indoor paddock observation area located off the new simulcast room offers a VIP view to the paddock. The Dog Iron Grill now features two seating areas holding 90 patrons near the main entrance of the casino.
Cherokee Nation Businesses Chief Executive Officer Shawn Slaton said, “At Cherokee Nation Entertainment, we always strive to uphold our position as the market leader for gaming and entertainment. We feel this upgrade streamlines our racing facility with our other casinos and gives it the look and experience our guests have come to appreciate from our brand.”
Opened in December 2005, Cherokee Casino Will Rogers Downs offers six months of live horseracing with a spring Thoroughbred meet and fall Quarter Horse meet. International simulcast races are broadcast year-round inside the casino.
