WynnBET recently appointed Ian Williams as chief operating officer. The 20-year gaming industry veteran will oversee WynnBET’s trading, marketing, customer service, payments and data science teams and report directly to Wynn Interactive CEO Craig Billings.
Most recently, Williams served as president of online gaming at Churchill Downs Inc., overseeing the growth of Churchill Downs Interactive into one of the most profitable online wagering companies in the U.S. For five years, under Williams’ leadership Churchill Downs’ horseracing advance-deposit wagering business—Twinspires.com and Betamerica.com—delivered record handle. Williams also led the development of Churchill Downs’ real money sports and iGaming businesses, and since 2018 was responsible for securing market access in nine states.
Williams has 17 years of executive experience in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. He also is the founder of Thistle Gaming, a distributor of real-time sports data feeds and virtual racing to leading European and Asian bookmakers. Williams is a graduate of Leeds Metropolitan University.
