Woman Thinks She Wins $8 million—Casino Won’t Pay

A woman playing a machine at the Lucky Eagle Casino in Washington hit the jackpot for what the machine informed her was more than $8.5 million. The casino disagreed. It carted off the Jurassic Riches slot and paid her $80.

A Portland, Oregon woman thought she won more than .5 million at the Lucky Eagle Casino in Rochester, Washington. The casino management told her that the Jurassic Riches slot machine malfunctioned and that she had only won .

Veronica Castillo, an infrequent player, told KOIN: “They shut off the machine, took it away, printed out a ticket and gave me $80.”

A spokesman for the casino told KOIN that Castillo won only $80 and that a sticker on the machine warns that a machine malfunction voids all payouts.

Castillo told KHOU: “I felt insulted I felt cheated, I was very disappointed very upset and then I started to think about all the people there. And then I got angry.” She hired an attorney but also plans to go on a campaign to warn other consumers. “To me, it’s cheating, may even be fraudulent,” she said. “My first thought was, how many people has this happened to? They think they won, then going away empty-handed.”

The casino management says it is working with the slot manufacturer to try to find out what happened.
