Wong Gets Another Year as Sands China President

Sands China’s board of directors has unanimously approved extending President Wilfred Wong’s contract by one year to February 2024.

Wong, 67, has been president of the Macau casino giant since November 2015, when he took over for Ed Tracy, and also served as chief operating officer until last February, when he was succeeded in that position by Sands China executive Grant Chum.

The board of the Hong Kong-listed company, a subsidiary of U.S.-based Las Vegas Sands, said the extension is meant to “facilitate the long-term growth and development of the group” and to ensure Wong will “continue to be incentivized to contribute to the management of the business and operations of the group on a long-term basis.”

Wong currently receives an annual salary of US$3 million plus performance incentives of up to $1.5 million, according to news reports.
