World Poker Fund to Acquire Cryptocurrency Wallet

Social gaming developer World Poker Fund Holdings, Inc. announced it has signed a term sheet to acquire the intellectual property of a digital currency wallet. The wallet is currently being implemented into a non-gaming social app, the company said. The company plans to integrate the wallet into its gaming platforms. In another story, reports say the Caribbean island of Curacao has issued a blockchain casino license to a company called Edgeless.

Social gaming developer and operator World Poker Fund Holdings has announced it will acquire a virtual currency wallet for use on its gaming platforms.

The company did not name the wallet in a press release, but said it is currently being implemented into a non-gaming social app.

The company also announced it has launched a new division to allow for the integration and use of digital currency with its existing and future technologies and applications. WPFH is developing and exploring cryptocurrency mining opportunities specifically geared toward its social gaming projects and its users. WPFH is planning to integrate blockchain mining into its social games, casino games, and applications, the press release said.

 “We are very excited that we will be able to offer our customers a secure method of paying in the currency of their choice; from dollars to Euros to Bitcoin to the latest and most secure blockchain cryptocurrency,” says Travis Kasper, Chairman of WPFH in the release.

In another story, reports say the Caribbean island of Curacao has issued a blockchain casino license to a company called Edgeless.

Based in Lithuania, the company said in a press release that the Curacao license as an effective starting point for a new way to compete with traditional online casinos. As regulations evolve concerning cryptocurrencies and gambling, Edgeless said it intends to focus on other jurisdictions where it is looking to compete by offering blockchain to provide those services.

The company is launching Edgeless 0.2, which it says offers increased betting limits; new player registration and verification; deposits and withdrawals of real EDG; and shapeshift integration allowing players to deposit EDG using other cryptocurrencies.
