Wyandotte Casino Expansion Celebrated with Grand Opening

A large, excited crowd was on hand as Wyandotte Casino showcased a $7 million expansion on December 4. The 25,000 square foot expansion, which features a club, VIP lounge, and entertainment venue is merely part one of a multi-phase $30 million project which will also expand the gaming floor by over 13,000 square feet, allowing an additional 300 machines to be added to the 500 machines currently occupying the floor.

A brand new million addition at Wyandotte Casino was showcased on December 4, as hundreds were on hand to take part in the grand opening event. The addition, which covers over 25,000 square feet, is highlighted by Club 60 West. The club, which is the centerpiece of the addition, is fully furnished with several TV screens and also features a beautiful central bar. It will also feature a VIP lounge and entertainment venue capable of holding nearly 500 guests.

As if that wasn’t enough, special party rooms were also built which can accommodate anywhere from a few, to a few hundred people, and even offers catering for company and corporate events.

The addition was merely the first phase of many, which overall is slated to cost $30 million, according to Wyandotte Tribe of Oklahoma CEO Kelly Carpino. “After about seven years it was time to do some face lifting to our property” declared Carpino, who boasted they are doing something nobody else is, with this direction they are headed.

The second phase has begun, according to Carpino, which will expand the gaming floor by nearly 13,000 square feet. This extra space, set to be finished in March, allows the casino to raise the total number of machines occupying the floor by more than 300, which would in the end total over 800 machines.

While no date has been set, Wyandotte Nation has let it be known a hotel is in the works as well. Carpino exclaims “We are really excited to offer all of this for our preferred customers”. Casino manager Gary Johnson’s efforts were commended by Carpino, who said he helped make the project a reality. Wyandotte Chief Billy Friend ceremoniously blessed the addition, which is a Native American tradition.
