Wynn Hires Retail Legend

Frank Visconti, a pioneer in the growth of high-end retail in the gaming industry, is back with Steve Wynn. Visconti, who once headed retail operations at Mirage Resorts, has been named to the same position at Wynn Resorts as the company readies an unveiling of its new Wynn Plaza expansion.

One of the best-known names in resort industry retail has joined Wynn Las Vegas to run the luxury retail offering at the company’s planned Wynn Plaza.

Frank Visconti, who was instrumental in introducing brands like Chanel, Hermes and Giorgio Armani to Las Vegas in the 1990s, has been named Wynn’s senior vice president of

retail, according to a company statement

It’s the second go-round with Steve Wynn for the Laguna Beach, Calif.-based consultant, who was hired in 1992 to head retail operations for Mirage Resorts after stints at Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman-Marcus.

Visconti also oversaw retail at MGM Resorts for 20 years and developed The Shops at Crystals next to the company’s Aria resort on the Las Vegas Strip.

The first contingent of Wynn Plaza’s luxury boutiques is slated to debut this fall and a second group next summer.

Visconti also will manage the luxury retail at Wynn Boston Harbor, which is scheduled to open in 2019.
