Wynn Resorts has partnered with U.K.-based betting app producer BetBull to create a new app targeting both the online sports betting and online gaming markets, to be called WynnBET.
Wynn officials announced the partnership in their third-quarter earnings call, noting the company’s goal of doubling its U.S. market access for online wagering by the end of the year. Wynn officials called BetBull a “product-focused online gaming company” that combines free-to-play games with a social component that allows bettors to gather in chat rooms to “watch” games together, according to a report by SportsHandle.com.
Several weeks ago, Wynn announced a majority-owned joint venture with BetBull for online sports betting and interactive gaming, Wynn Interactive, to offer digital gaming both in the U.S. and internationally. Wynn Resorts owns 71 percent of the new subsidiary, and has made an $80 million investment in BetBull to fuel growth needs, the company said.
Wynn Interactive launched its first digital sports betting platform in August in New Jersey, and it has been live in Nevada for several years. The company has applied for live mobile sports betting licenses in Tennessee and Virginia, and officials say the company will continue to expand as more U.S. jurisdictions approve online sports betting and iGaming.
