Wynn Plans April 28 Intrigue Opening

Wynn Resorts plans an April 28 opening of its new Intrigue nightclub, which replaces the popular Tryst nightclub and aims to provide a unique experience with a fun factor that exceeds all other clubs on the Las Vegas Strip. Former Rock of Ages and Broadway performer Mark Shunock is overseeing all details to ensure success.

Wynn Las Vegas intends to open its newest nightclub, Intrigue, on April 28, which replaces the popular Tryst and aims to change the Las Vegas Strip club scene.

Unlike the proliferation of large mega-clubs, Wynn COO Sean Christie told the Las Vegas Sun the Intrigue will be different, and has former Rock of Ages cast member Mark Shunock for creative director.

Shunock has Broadway experience, and Christie said he will create a unique experience by utilizing Shunock’s experience with costumes and choreography to enhance DJs and other performances to provide an entirely new experience from the traditionally large clubs on the Las Vegas Strip.

Shunock will oversee all aspects of the club’s development before it opens and is providing input on everything, Christie told the Sun. Instead of trying to compete with big-budget productions, such as Le Reve at the Wynn, Intrigue will provide a more complementary, yet unique experience.

Christie said the Intrigue will be detail-oriented to ensure a completely unique format for club-goers that they won’t find elsewhere in Las Vegas. That means elaborate staging, choreography, and performances unlike anything else in Sin City.

That means getting all the details done correctly, down to the last stitch on every costume, and by storyboarding performances and enhancing them with unique choreography, Christie said.

The ultimate goal is to create an immersive experience, in which people can choose to dance, hang out at the bar, or get a table with friends, and enjoy a range of entertainment and activities that provide an experience that exceeds any other Strip club in pure fun.

Also gone is the old kitchen at the Tryst, and the Intrigue will include a smaller private club, which is yet to be named, in the space occupied by the old kitchen. Christie said the club might never be named, to help keep its private status more discreet.

Whether Shunock and Christie succeed likely should be decided at the end of April.
