Wyoming Casino Completes Expansion

A Wyoming tribe has completed a $30 million expansion of its casino property. The Shoshone Rose Casino (l.) has added more gaming space and a new 61-room hotel.

The Shoshone Rose Casino of Wyoming recently completed a yearlong million expansion, which included the gaming floor and the addition of a new 61-room hotel. It held a soft opening on September 30 and officially reopened a few days later.

The resort is located on the Wind River Reservation near Lander. The casino opened in 2007.

The soft opening included tours for hundreds of locals and a ribbon cutting combined with a blessing and drum songs.

Shoshone Business Council Chairman Darwin St. Clair Jr. said the hotel is already booked due to the success in marketing the hotel before it opened.

The goal of the renovation was to give the resort an upscale feel. “We were going for an elegant facility,” St. Clair Jr. told the Ranger.

The hotel includes a heated indoor pool. Rooms have a view of the Wind River Mountain Range. The casino has added a non-alcoholic bar, snack shop and gift shop. An additional 425 slot machines will be installed before the official grand opening on October 14.
