The first full month of online-only sports betting in Wyoming was promising. DraftKings, and BetMGM launched September 1 and took in $6.2 million in wagers, the Wyoming Pari-Mutuel Commission reported.
“October looks very positive, the potential for doubling of wagers and a fraction of the free bet activity,” said David Carpenter, the commission’s sports wagering project manager. Gross gaming revenue was $954,416 with a 15.4 percent hold. Net sports betting revenue was minus $125,000 due to promotional spending.
Bets on NFL games dominated, accounting for $3.6 million of the total in September.
At its November meeting, the commission was expected to add FanDuel Sportsbook to the list of approved operators. Penn National Gaming’s Barstool Sportsbook has also applied to operate in the state.
