Zhang Named Executive Chef at Wynn Macau

Wynn Macau has announced the appointment of Zhang Zhicheng as executive chef at the two-Michelin-starred Golden Flower restaurant at Wynn Macau.

Zhang owns the restaurant Yanjintang in Beijing and is known for his contemporary Sichuan, Shandong and Northern Chinese cuisines, according to Inside Asian Gaming. Wynn said his culinary approach will add to the “refined ambience” of Golden Flower.

In March, he was part of the company’s Guest Chef Series at Wynn Macau and Wynn Palace, working with students at the Wynn F&B Academy, the Macao Institute for Tourism Studies and the Macau University of Science and Technology.

Wynn described Zhang as “a master at unleashing the potential of original ingredients to unearth a myriad of flavors,” with a “reputation for inventing dishes that deeply touch the soul.

“Before arriving at Golden Flower, he opened a private kitchen within the courtyard residence of an ancient hutong, where he introduced bold and innovative dishes,” Wynn said.

“Soon after opening, the private kitchen quickly rose to become one of the hottest dining destinations in Beijing. Now at Golden Flower, Chef Zhang infuses his cooking philosophy and unique culinary concepts into masterful creations, presenting timeless classics for guests in Macau.”
