Zynga continues to adjust its online gaming options in the UK by announcing the launch of a new real-money wagering poker game on UK Facebook.
The company also announced it will close its once-popular Yoville game at the end of March. The game hit 20 million monthly users in 2009, but now attracts just 354,000, according to published reports.
Zynga officials said that closing the game was a “tough decision,” but the company needs to make room for newer games such as the poker game.
Zynga announced its plan to launch a real-money version of its popular free-play online poker product available on Facebook last July.
The move comes after the company made little impact last year after partnering with Bwin.party digital entertainment and after announcing that the company will not pursue real-money online gambling opportunities in the US.
The new game is the Zynga Plus Poker app and remains affiliated with bwin.party’s PartyPoker brand.
