Zynga Poker Gets Redesign

Zynga has redesigned its most popular social game Zynga Poker to give the game a more realistic look and casino feel.

It’s always risky to tinker with a winner, but Zynga has launched a new design for it popular Zynga Poker.

The design creates a more realistic look using player photos and a more “immersive” social gameplay. Zynga said the redesign is in response to customer demand.

More than 350 million have played Zynga Poker, but the company may be feeling the heat of new competition in the social games market.

The new mobile game runs faster and gets you into a game as soon as it can. It adapts to your skill level and places you at a poker table that matches your level, gameplay patterns, and preferences, Zynga said.

“Poker is a 200-year-old game,” Nick Giovanello, the creative director for Poker Mobile, said in an interview with GamesBeat. “How do you reinvent that experience? We wanted to create an app that was re-architected for mobile and reimagined. It’s not trivial to do that.”

The team focused on better design, a forward-looking user interface, smart integrated systems, and a brand-new engine to bring better animation and effects, he said.

Zynga Poker launched in July 2007 as Zynga’s first social game on Facebook.
