G2E Sessions Target Attracting Millennials

At the 2018 Global Gaming Expo, October 8-11 in Las Vegas, the popular Innovation Lab once again will offer daily sessions under an overall theme, which this year will explore how to attract millennial players. Sessions will focus on using social media and esports to reach younger players.

For the third consecutive year, Global Gaming Expo 2018 once again will feature the Innovation Lab, a “space for innovative concepts for the gaming industry,” according to Allie Barth, vice president of industry relations for the American Gaming Association, presenter of G2E. Set for October 8-11 in Las Vegas, G2E’s Innovation Lab will offer a daily theme presenting “perspectives on how the industry can advance into the future both through gaming and broader resort management,” Barth said.

One of the themes at G2E will highlight how casino operators can attract millennial customers, those born in the 1980s and 1990s. A session on October 10 will discuss “Secrets of A Social Influencer: Bringing Slot Machines to Millennials.” Social media influencer Brian Christopher will discuss how casinos can attract younger players and offer analytics and insights on how casinos can cater to consumers in this market segment.

Another October 10 session will feature “New Terrain & Emerging Markets,” including “Esports Gaming Converging with Casino Gaming.” The program will be led by Edgar Pastrana , vice president of commercial strategy at Allied eSports, a network of dedicated eSports venues and content production facilities in North America, China and Europe.

In addition, Davis Fong Ka Chio, a Macau scholar, legislator and director of the Institute for the Study of Commercial Gaming at the University of Macau, will discuss how casino operators can evaluate market demand for eSports by hosting competitions and other events.
