Amaya Cuts Staff

Amaya Gaming has cut “dozens” of staff positions to cut out redundancy in its organizations after the company’s Full Tilt brand was absorbed into PokerStars.

Amaya Gaming is cutting jobs at its London offices, but creating jobs elsewhere in an effort to improve its efficiency and meet growth estimates.

The cuts come after the Full Tilt brand was absorbed by PokerStars.

According to eGaming Review, Amaya was eliminating “dozens” of jobs at its London office while shifting some of the jobs to more cost-effective locales such as the Isle of Man.

Amaya’s corporate spokesman Eric Hollreiser confirmed the cuts, saying the company was eliminating “a few dozen existing roles in several offices, while simultaneously creating a few dozen new roles in several offices.” Hollreiser said the company is trying to place affected Amaya staffers in new roles based on their qualifications.

Hollreiser said the cuts are part of the company’s expansions beyond online poker to also offer casino, sports betting and daily fantasy sports.
