Argentine Province Legalizes iGaming

Lawmakers in the Argentine province of Córdoba (l.) have approved a bill that would legalize online gaming. It will allow online casino games, sports betting and lotteries.

The parliament of Córdoba, Argentina has approved a bill legalizing online gaming. It awaits the signature of Governor Juan Schiaretti to become law.

The new law allows casino games, sports betting and lotteries online. Up to five licenses will be granted.

Each Argentine state is allowed to pursue its own path in gaming. The first state to legalize iGaming was Buenos Aires, which gave seven licenses in 2021.

Licensees are allowed the develop their own offerings. The licenses are good for 20 years. Foreign participation is allowed, as long as the foreign operators partner with a license holder and limit participation to 35 percent of operations.

Advertising of online gaming is not permitted without the explicit approval of the government.
