Arizona Casinos Continue Reopening

On April 26, the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community (SRPMIC) of Arizona began the second phase of reopening its two casinos, the Casino Arizona and Talking Stick Resort.

Phase 2 is mainly concerned with reopening restaurants about a year after they closed due to the pandemic.

Director of Public Relations Ramon Martinez said in a statement: “It is with great excitement that we take the next step in fully opening Casino Arizona and Talking Stick Resort.”

He added, “We have taken deliberate action in the coordination of a phased reopening to ensure that food and beverage operations at each property are conducted with the utmost care and safety for our guests. We have no doubt they have been missing the chance to dine at some of these eateries, and we are delighted to welcome them back.”

Some restaurants that previously only offered “grab-and-go” will now offer table service. This includes Willows and Cholla Prime Restaurant at Casino Arizona while Roast Beef Station will reopen for walk up service. Talking Stick Resort will reopen its restaurants in sequences, beginning with Ocean Trail offering dine in and continuing with others such as Orange Sky and the O Lounge on May 3 and returning to full operations on May 17. That doesn’t include the buffets at either casino, which won’t happen until Phase 3 of reopening.

Both casinos will continue with safety protocols such as temperature checks, masks for all, and transparent plastic barriers at slots and tables. In addition, both casinos will remain smoke-free.
