Aspers Casino Loses Alcohol License

Following an alleged attack on a customer by security staff, Aspers Casino in the London area lost its alcohol license until the Newham borough council holds a review hearing. Two weeks earlier, the council issued a ban on glass after a series of drunken attacks.

The alcohol license of supercasino Aspers Casino in the London area recently was revoked by the Newham borough council after casino security staff allegedly attacked a customer. The facility has been banned from serving alcohol at any time, and also may not serve food from 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

An emergency licensing hearing was held following the incident, during which council members viewed a video of the assault, which caused “severe injury” to the customer.

A Newham Council spokesperson said, “The decision was made in view of the seriousness of the incident and the police and licensing sub-committee’s concerns about the casino’s ability to prevent crime and disorder. The suspension will remain in force until a full licensing review hearing.”
