Bader Field Plans Delayed in Atlantic City

Atlantic City’s City Council delayed passage of an agreement to lease Bader Field, the city’s former municipal airport for athletic fields, after concerns were raised by the resorts state-appointed financial manager.

The Atlantic City Council was forced to delay a vote to grant a lease to develop the city’s Bader Field complex to accommodate some late changes to the agreement suggest by the resort’s financial manager.

The changes to the lease were not outlined, but were enough for council to decide it had to re-advertise the new agreement for a later public hearing.

Still some members of council criticized the manager—Kevin Lavin, appointed by Governor Chris Christie—for interfering with a simple lease procedure, the Press of Atlantic City reported.

Bader Field Sports LLC, based in Midland Park, plans to build a variety of athletic fields and other amenities at the site.
