Baha Mar Ltd., which will open the largest resort in the Caribbean in Nassau, the Bahamas, by the end of the year, announced the opening of the Baha Mar Academy, which will offer free casino dealer training and other instruction to those recruited to fill more than 4,000 positions at the new luxury resort.
The Casino Dealer Trainee Program will provide draining for the games to be offered in the central 100,000-square-foot Baha Mar Casino. Additionally, trainees will learn service standards and supervisory skills tailored to the new resort.
“The Baha Mar Academy will teach the technical and soft skills during its training programs. However, the most important characteristic of a Baha Mar team member is showing a commitment to the Baha Mar standards. “We are looking for people who have an aptitude for service and a passion for hospitality,” said Paul Pusateri, Chief Operating Officer at Baha Mar.
No experience or prior casino dealer or gaming supervisor training is required to apply to the Baha Mar Academy Casino Dealer Trainee Program. The opportunity is open to those who would like to begin or to further a career in gaming as part of the casino team at Baha Mar.
“Baha Mar is living up to its promise to transform the Bahamas,” said Paul Pusateri, chief operating officer of Baha Mar. “We are investing in an unprecedented level of training to ensure that Bahamians from every community who are willing to invest in themselves have the chance to join Baha Mar. Together, we will create a better future not just for ourselves and our families, but also for our country.”
The training program will consist of morning and evening courses taking place three and a half days a week for up to 18 weeks. Trainees should be at least 18 years old and submit an application to the Careers section at www.bahamar.com. Participants who successfully complete the program will be extended an offer to join the Baha Mar casino team.
