BetAmerica Back Online After Cyber-Attack

BetAmerica, an online sportsbook owned by U.S. casino and racetrack operator Churchill Downs Inc., came back online on April 17, three weeks after sports betting platform provider SBTech was disabled by a cyber-attack.

The attack in late March forced the shutdown of more than 50 sports betting operations, including BetAmerica, which launched in New Jersey in early 2019 and in Pennsylvania in February. Others affected by the attack included Resorts and Golden Nugget, both based in New Jersey.

Some sportsbooks powered by SBTech, including the Oregon Lottery’s Scoreboard app, returned online April 2.
