British bookmaker Betfair announced that Mark Brooker has been promoted from director of sports betting to chief operating officer.
Brooker has been with the company for the last four years, and his new responsibilities will place him in the iGaming hot seat, with the introduction of a new sports book high on the priority list.
Prior to his appointment as sports betting director, Brooker was corporate development director; he spent the previous 17 years working in investment banking, advising U.K. companies on equity capital raising and mergers and acquisitions, most recently at Morgan Stanley and prior to that at Merrill Lynch.
