Betsson Acquires NetPlay TV

Stockholm-based Betsson AB has completed its purchase of NetPlay TV, the UK-based interactive gaming operator, for $32.46. As a result, Betsson will add Jackpot247, Supercasino and Vernons to its European gaming brands portfolio. Officials said several NetPlay functions will be moved or consolidated as a result of the sale.

Betsson AB of Stockholm, Sweden recently completed its acquisition of UK-based interactive gaming operator NetPlay TV for .46 million. The deal, announced on February 2, was approved by the NetPlay’s board of governors and investors, followed by approval by the UK High Court of Justice.

As a result of the NetPlay purchase, Betsson will add Jackpot247, Supercasino and Vernons to its portfolio of European gaming brands.

Betsson officials said NetPlay TV customer service and payment operations that currently are outsourced will be centralized in Malta; critical CRM and VIP functions will be situated closer to Betsson operations. In addition, Betsson and NetPlay UK offices will be consolidated. The brands, now operating on a third-party system, will move to the Techsson platform in 2019, when current agreements expire.

Betsson AB Chief Executive Officer and President Ulrik Bengtsson said, “With the addition of NetPlay and the continued organic growth, UK is on its way to become one of Betsson’s most important markets. Also, this acquisition is a good example of our strategy to acquire subscale operators where integration with Betsson’s systems and processes can realize synergies.”
