Betsson Stops Affiliate Marketing in the Netherlands

Betsson AB has confirmed that it has stopped affiliate marketing and promotions in the Netherlands while it waits to go through licensing in the country under new online rules expected to be enacted soon in the country.

Betsson has halted all affiliate promotions and marketing in the Netherlands in anticipation of seeking a license there as the country puts in new online gambling regulations.

The Dutch government has warned that illegal online gambling operators will not be licensed if they continue to act illegally while the country prepares new online gambling regulations.

The Dutch regulator Kansspelautoriteit has also recently agreed to new advertising restrictions with media groups in the Netherlands.

Betsson runs the successful Kroon and Oranje internet casino brands in the country and has advised affiliate marketers that players referred from promos presented in the Dutch language will no longer be accepted and credited.
