BIA: Redding Rancheria Must Follow 2-Part Determination

California’s Redding Rancheria has been told by Tara Sweeney (l.), Assistant Secretary of the Department of Interior, that it must follow the “two-part” determination of the Indian Regulatory Act in pursuing putting land into trust for a relocated casino near Redding. That reverses an earlier understanding between the rancheria and the department.
