Caesars Moves Barnhill to Cincinnati

Chad Barnhill will move from his current position as senior vice president and general manager of Horseshoe Casino Baltimore to the role of general manager of Horseshoe Cincinnati.

Caesars Entertainment announced that Chad Barnhill, senior vice president and general manager of Horseshoe Casino Baltimore, will assume the role of general manager of Horseshoe Cincinnati. The company is searching for a replacement in Baltimore.

Barnhill arrived in Baltimore in 2012 to develop and launch the $442 million Horseshoe Casino, which opened in August 2014. The casino brought gaming to the city center and introduced a new era of gaming that aims to help guests enjoy all the downtown area has to offer.

“It has been a distinct honor to oversee the opening of Horseshoe Casino Baltimore and work with the thousands of wonderful team members who provide our guests with a one-of-a-kind entertainment experience,” Barnhill said. “While I will miss Charm City, its residents and the many dedicated local officials with whom I have partnered, this is a unique opportunity for me to relocate to the Midwest, where my wife and I both have extensive family.”

Barnhill, who hails from the Paducah, Kentucky area, led an unprecedented local hiring program during Horseshoe Baltimore’s development in which the casino partnered with the local library system to hire and train local residents for new careers in the gaming industry. He will remain at Horseshoe Baltimore through late November and will work with the Caesars team and Horseshoe Baltimore Assistant General Manager Alex Dixon to ensure a smooth transition of the property’s leadership.

“Chad has done an outstanding job managing Horseshoe Baltimore, and we are pleased he will be bringing his valuable combination of operational excellence, marketing expertise and commitment to community involvement to our team in Cincinnati,” said John Payne, chief executive officer of Caesars Entertainment Operating Company. “I know I speak for the entire Baltimore team when I say that Chad’s leadership and integrity will be greatly missed.”
