On June 15, all California gaming halls can go mask-free.

Formerly a hotbed of Covid infections, the Golden State is now one of the most vaccinated. To reflect that reality, Governor Gavin Newsom lifted mask requirements along with most other restrictions.

Some tribal casinos have already dispensed with masks, since they’re on sovereign land that doesn’t come under state jurisdiction.

Agua Caliente Casinos in Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage and Cathedral City are in the process of updating their rules, but currently require masks and take temperatures when patrons enter.

Casino Pauma in Pauma Valley still requires masks, takes temperatures and encourages social distancing.

Fantasy Springs Resort Casino in Indo still requires masks for guests and employees, and recommends them for its outdoor venue, the Rock Yard.

Harrah’s Resort Southern California in Funner doesn’t ask those who’ve been vaccinated to wear masks. Social distancing remains in effect.

Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula continues to conduct temperature checks and requires masks indoors. Masks are not required at most outdoor venues.
