One of the premier projects that officials in Kern County, California, are looking forward to is Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tejon.
Recently Kern County Chief Administrative Officer Ryan Alsop told the Bakersfield Californian about projects that he anticipates beginning in 2022, among them the casino that is a project of Tejon Indian Tribe.
The project still requires to go-ahead from Governor Gavin Newsom. It would increase the county’s available entertainment options.
The casino would have a 166,500-square-foot gaming floor, and an 11-story hotel room. It would be an off-reservation casino on farmland in the town of Mettle. The Bureau of Indian Affairs has approved the project, but it requires a two-part determination, which means that the governor must also approve.
Alsop told the Californian, “All of this hangs in the balance up at the capitol with the governor. We are waiting on him to make a decision on and complete whatever it is he needs to get done to make this project go forward.”
