California Gaming Tribe Hires New CEO for Interactive Initiatives

A 20-year veteran of interactive gaming and social gaming has been hired as chief operating officer by San Manuel Digital, a subsidiary of the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians in Southern California. He will be in charge of interactive and mobile initiatives for the tribe’s casino operations.

Southern California’s San Manuel Band of Mission Indians has announcement the hire of Matthew Cullen, formerly president of RocketPlay to be in charge of its interactive and mobile initiatives as CEO of San Manuel Digital, LLC.

Cullen has two decades of experience in entertainment and online gaming. His job will be to search for ways that the tribe’s digital development arm can take advantage of digital and interactive opportunities.

Tribal Chairman Carla Rodriguez commented, “San Manuel looks to the future with a clear understanding that technology will be a critical factor to the success of the gaming and entertainment industry overall, and has created San Manuel Digital to direct development and pursue opportunities in that area. Mr. Cullen’s skills, expertise and history of success in interactive and social gaming will enhance our ability to maintain a leadership position in the industry.”

Cullen is a founder and director of the International Social Games Association, which both educates consumers about social gaming, but also develops guidelines for protecting consumers.
