The Chemehuevi Tribal council has decided to build a casino on Lake Havasu, California. It will be called the Havasu Lake Hotel, Marina and Casino.
The 250-member tribe is in the process of securing a loan for the project, which the tribe has been pursuing for about five years. This will be the tribe’s second casino, it’s first since the 1970s when it built Havasu Landing Resort and Casino.
The project will provide a needed 48-room hotel on the reservation.
Groundbreaking is expected in the near future since construction will need to be completed 18 months from the execution of the financial agreement.
