Carano Now Silver Legacy GM

Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Glenn Carano has been promoted to general manager of the Silver Legacy Resort & Casino in Reno, Nevada. Carano, who served as director of marketing since the casino opened in 1995, took the position last month.

Former Silver Legacy director of marketing Glenn Carano has been promoted to general manager of the Reno resort. Carano, a former quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys football team, has been with the casino since it opened in 1995.

“I am incredibly grateful and excited for this opportunity and look forward to many exciting improvements that we have in the works,” Carano said. “But most importantly, I look forward to working closer with our valuable employees to provide them with the highest quality work environment, which will in turn reflect greatly how our guests experience the Silver Legacy Resort Casino.”

“Glenn’s leadership and dedication to Silver Legacy and our team members will continue to set the property up for success,” said Gary Carano, former general manager of the Silver Legacy.

Carano spent seven years in the NFL and has been active leader in Northern Nevada’s gaming and tourism industry. He served a four-year term as board member and marketing committee chairman of the Reno-Sparks Convention Authority; eight years as a board member of the Reno Airport Authority; and six years as commissioner with the Nevada Athletic Commission.
