The CEO and president of Valley Forge Casino Resort, Mike Bowman, is leaving the Pennsylvania-based casino to become president of the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board, which he is currently chairman and interim president of.
The move is effective June 15.
Bowman’s colleagues at the casino fully support his move. According to Bob Pickus, chairman of the casino, quoted by the Philadelphia Business Journal, “This move comes at a critical time with the pope’s visit this summer and the Democratic National Convention coming next year.” He added, “We need to ensure we are fully prepared as a region to highlight Montgomery County as a prime convention location and leisure visitor destination. Mike is absolutely the right person to do that.”
Bowman commented, “I am ecstatic to be appointed VFTCB president. As board chair for the past two years, I am very familiar with all of our programs, our members and the wealth of tourism and convention assets in Montgomery County.”
