Catawba’s North Carolina Casino Expansion Opens

The Catawba Two Kings Casino in Kings Mountain, North Carolina recently unveiled its expanded pre-launch facility.

The venue added 500 gaming machines, including electronic blackjack, roulette, craps and baccarat. That brings the temporary casino’s totals to 1,000 gaming machines, including 954 traditional slot machines and 46 positions at four automated electronic table game pods in a “stadium” setup. The expansion also includes a high-limit area.

Catawba Nation Gaming Authority President Mike Ulizio said, “Our patrons are now able to play their favorite table games right here at Catawba Two Kings Casino, all from the comfort of one seat. The electronic table games are a great addition as we provide more gaming opportunities at a convenient location for people across the Charlotte region.”

The pre-launch facility opened July 1, 2021, and work on the expansion began in September. The prefabricated modular structure is attached to the original facility. Planning continues on the tribe’s permanent casino resort project; the opening date will be announced later, officials said.
