A ribbon-cutting ceremony recently was held at the Chickasaw Nation’s WinStar Convention Center at WinStar World Casino and Resort in Thackerville, Oklahoma. Chickasaw Governor Bill Anoatubby said the new facility will add 50 jobs for a total of 3,673 at the complex, including WinStar World Casino, considered the largest casino in the U.S. He added the new convention center will builds on the casino’s regional economic impact, attracting visitors from around the region, and beyond.
“The WinStar Convention Center will draw even greater numbers of worldwide visitors and serve as a platform to showcase the WinStar campus, as well as bring more tourism to Chickasaw Country,” Anoatubby said.
The 66,950 square foot multipurpose facility will host meetings, events, conventions and conferences of all sizes. The 15,000 square foot grand ballroom will hold up to 1,000 people and offer a flexible wall system, audio, video and lighting capabilities. The junior ballroom can accommodate up to 700 guests. Three executive boardrooms and a 12,500 square foot kitchen for event catering also are available.
Chickasaw Nation Secretary of Commerce Bill Lance said, “The design of the convention center enables multiple events to be held at the same time. We took great consideration with the layout of the facility with the customer experience at the forefront of our planning. Guests can expect a world-class experience whether it’s for an elegant wedding or large, multi-day business conference.”
Casino officials said the ballrooms’ design encompassed numerous elements of elegance, such as the 17 chandeliers located grand ballroom, featuring many hand-blown glass pieces.
Sales Manager Morgan Ambrose said, “Visitors to the WinStar Convention Center can expect our experienced professionals to take care of all of their meeting and planning needs in a one-stop shop.”
The tribe broke grounds for the new facility in April 2015.
