Choctaws Pay Off Bond, Refinance Loan

The Choctaw Nation announced its economic development arm, the Choctaw Resort Development Enterprise, recently paid off outstanding bond debt and refinanced its existing bank loan. The CRDE owns and operates the Pearl River Resort in Philadelphia, Mississippi, home of Silver Star, Golden Moon (l.), Dancing Rabbit, and Geyser Falls casinos.

The Choctaw Resort Development Enterprise, the economic development arm of the Choctaw Nation in Choctaw, Neshoba County, Mississippi, announced it has paid off outstanding bond debt and refinanced its existing bank loan. Tribal Chief Phyliss Anderson said, “It allows us to reduce our interest rate to a historic low, 2 percent. It will enable us to save about million annually.”

The CRDE owns and operates Silver Star, Golden Moon, Dancing Rabbit, Geyser Falls and Bok Homa casinos at the Pearl River Resort. Anderson said gambling revenues increased more than $11 million and profits are up $2 million, versus January to November 2015.

“By being able to do this we are making sure that we are paying our notes down, that we’re taking care of our loans while providing services that are greatly needed for our tribal members. It’s very important that we continue to keep up with our competition. That’s the only way that we’re going to attract more customers here and continue with our financial success,” Anderson said.
