Preview drew 600,000 visitors
Melco Crown’s newest megaresort, City of Dreams Manila, will mark its grand opening this week.
The integrated casino resort will open Monday, February 2 and feature appearances by gaming moguls Lawrence Ho and James Packer, co-chairmen of Melco Crown.
Located at the gateway to Entertainment City, City of Dreams Manila is “poised to become the premier leisure and entertainment destination in the Philippines,” according to a statement from the company.
More than 600,000 people visited the resort during its preview period in December, with an estimated 20,000 people passing through on the first day alone. The resort was the subject of a recent promotional film starring Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio and directed by Martin Scorsese.
“Our official grand launch finally delivers our stated commitment to bring Manila its first international integrated leisure destination offering,” said Clarence Chung, chairman and president of Melco Crown Philippines. “The new resort complex will deliver a diverse collection of contemporary leisure and lifestyle brands from all over the world including Crown, Nobu, Hyatt and the Pangaea Group, who are behind the world’s most successful nightclubs and lounges.”
