Colombia’s licensed online gaming operators can offer live dealer casino games as a way to generate revenues during the Covid-19 shutdown.
The country’s gaming regulator, Coljuegos, OK’d the games last week, according to CDC Gaming Reports. Coljuegos launched Colombia’s regulated iGaming market in June 2017. Since then, it’s grown to account for 13 percent of gaming revenue, with almost 3 million registered player accounts across 16 licensed operators.
Looking at live casino games in markets including as New Jersey, Belgium, Spain and the UK, the regulator found that the addition of live dealer complemented rather than cannibalized online casino revenue.
The country is on lockdown until at least April 27.
