Cozza Resigns from Caesars Board

Keith Cozza, a member of the Caesars Entertainment board of directors, who served as a representative of billionaire and Caesars stockholder Carl Icahn, has resigned from his board position. Cozza is the CEO of Icahn Enterprises.

The resignation was announced in the wake of the operator’s merger with Eldorado Resorts, a deal that was made possible after Icahn acquired more than 17 percent of Caesars stock, raising his ownership stake to 25 percent.

The resignation was announced in a filing last week with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. No reason was given.

“Mr. Cozza’s resignation was not the result of any disagreement with the company on any mater relating to the company’s operations, policies or practices,” Caesars said in the SEC filing.

Icahn, 83, remains the largest individual stockholder in the newly merged Caesars Entertainment, controlling 10 percent of the stock.
