Dealers at Deadwood, South Dakota casinos have nearly completed training on roulette, keno and craps that will be available for the first time on July 1. Deadwood Gaming Association Executive Director Mike Rodman said, “We think this is going to being a whole new dimension to Deadwood, and it’s going to be exciting for the visitors to Deadwood that they’ll have some additional games that they get to play once they get here.”
Rodman noted the new games definitely will be offered at the Silverado Franklin, Tin Lizzie’s, Cadillac Jacks, Gold Dust and Mineral Place. Fifty-eight dealers are in training for the craps tables and 42 dealers for roulette.
Rodman said the addition of the games has gone through two legislative sessions and a statewide referendum. The South Dakota Gaming Association recently approved the rules for the new games, and the Legislative Interim Rules Committee will give its final approval on June 8, he said.
“It’s been a long process. Finally we’re getting very close to being able to provide those games. Our customers have been asking for them for a long time, and we’re just excited we’re finally going to have those games and be able to compete with surrounding jurisdictions on the same level.”
