Delaware Sees Rise in Online Poker

Revenue figures for February show that online poker revenue was up 25 percent in Delaware. Still, the online action took in only about $35,000. Delaware online gaming sites took in a total $143,101 in February for all casino games and poker.

Delaware’s online casinos saw a 25 percent rise in online poker revenue in February bringing in ,526, an increase over the ,695 realized in January.

Delaware Park’s online site took in $22,118, more than 60 percent of the market. Dover Downs and Harrington Raceway took in $8,300 and $4,108, respectively.

The numbers do not reflect an interstate online poker compact with Nevada, which began in late March. Officials hope the pact will increase play pools in both states. Players on any of the three Delaware sites compete against players in Nevada at WSOP.com.

Revenue numbers for all online gaming that includes poker, video lottery and casino games increased 8.3 percent over January. Delaware gaming sites took in $143,101 in February over $132,074 in January.

 Delaware Park is the market leader in gambling revenue comprised of all offerings with $111,979.

A total of 274 players created new iGaming accounts in February, a drop of 4.5 percent from 287 in January. To date, 10,098 players have registered to gamble online in Delaware.
