Denmark’s and the UK’s gambling authority have agreed to an information sharing partnership.
Denmark’s Spillemyndigheden and the UK Gambling Commission will cooperate on projects and share information related to the gambling industry.
Officials said they hope the partnership will aid in fighting money laundering and help consumer protection initiatives as well as combating problem gambling. The two organizations will also collaborate on projects to boost the management of player accounts as well as the supervision of advertising in the UK and Danish markets.
“The signature of this agreement with Gambling Commission pursues cooperation policy with regulatory authorities sharing a common view on online gambling regulation,” Spillemyndigheden said in a statement. “This corresponds with the work related to online gambling currently ongoing at European level regarding promotion of cross-border cooperation and adoption of common principles guaranteeing a high level of protection for consumers, players and minors.”
