The Plaza Las Vegas casino’s recent makeover and a renewed emphasis on customer experience has helped the downtown casino to grow revenues even when others aren’t.
The Plaza underwent a renovation of its hotel rooms and casino amenities from 2010-2011, and its redesigned gaming floor restores the casino’s emphasis on gaming, while providing unique opportunities not available at other downtown properties.
Among them is a 344-seat bingo parlor, which includes 65 smoke-free seats. The bingo operation is the only one on Fremont Street, and a new gaming party pit near the casino’s entrance offers blackjack and roulette the moment visitors walk in the door.
The casino also provide live music in the gaming area every day of the week to help draw in customers from the nearby Fremont Street Experience, and the Plaza’s 600 slot machines include 30 vintage coin-operated slots for older gamblers who are fondly remember old Las Vegas and for those interested in historical gaming devices that still are in play.
Plaza Las Vegas CEO Jonathan Jossel said the casino is paying attention to fine details and working to provide a unique and fun gaming experience for visitors, and the results so far have been very positive.
Plaza Las Vegas reported a 13.9 percent rise in gaming revenues in October, while the rest of Downtown Las Vegas gaming operations reported a decline of 6.5 percent.
The Plaza also reported revenues rose by 20 percent for its hotel operations from a year earlier. The Plaza has 1,037 hotel rooms, which underwent a renovation three years ago.
