Onetime ESPN talker Dan LeBatard is moving to Meadowlark Media, where he will broadcast his program, “The Dan LeBatard Show with Stugotz,” across multiple media platforms. The show is sponsored by DraftKings, reported SportsPro.com.
The Miami Herald reports that the deal is worth $50 million.
“DraftKings believed in us, our principles and our mission enough to give us a freedom no scared corporation or traditional media partner ever could or ever would,” LeBatard said in a statement. “To our fans, know that DraftKings is the reason you aren’t behind a paywall, and I’m promising you the money won’t change the show or corrupt us in any way.”
Former ESPN president John Skipper launched Meadowlark Media in January shortly after LeBatard left ESPN. Meadowlark has also signed former ESPN hosts Jemelle Hill and Adnan Virk.
“John Skipper and Dan LeBatard have established a deep roster of content creators that will continue to expand quality and original programming,” DraftKings Chairman and CEO Jason Robins said in a statement. “Our relationship with Meadowlark Media demonstrates DraftKings’ dynamic approach in bringing premium content to skin-in-the-game sports fans through numerous channels.”
