Seton Hall University in New Jersey and the Entain Foundation US are joining forces to provide ethics, legal and compliance education for workers in the online sports betting and gaming industries.
U.K.-based Entain is the 50-50 joint venture partner with MGM Resorts International and its Roar Digital iGaming arm. Last week, Entain announced it would donate $100,000 to Seton Hall’s School of Law to underwrite the program. It follows the success of the inaugural Gaming Law, Compliance and Integrity Bootcamp, launched at Seton Hall in March 2020.
“This funding will guarantee the continued success of the Bootcamp,” said Kathleen M. Boozang, dean of the Seton Hall School of Law, “and ensure that gaming compliance professionals have a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and the ability to identify, scrutinize, prevent, and address unlawful or unethical behaviors.”
The 2021 Bootcamp will take place September 19-22 at Seton Hall School of Law’s Newark campus. Topics on the agenda include:
- Insights on the global and U.S. gambling markets and trends
- Legal and regulatory structures that ensure market integrity and player protection
- Transparent compliance protocols that protect both the public interest and operators
“This industry is growing very rapidly and needs the support of top-quality legal and compliance professionals who understand the complexities of the regulatory landscape,” said William J. Pascrell III, a trustee of the Entain Foundation US. “This is a really exciting collaboration which seeks to do that.” For more information, click here.
