Everi Introduces Online Versions of Classic Slots

Classic three-reel slot games have been hard to find in the online casino space—until now. Game manufacturer Everi recently launched a library of player favorites at New Jersey’s GoldenNuggetCasino.com. Ten titles are available, with more to come.

Everi Introduces Online Versions of Classic Slots

New Jersey’s winningest online casino now offers a whole new library of classic slots—those good old three-reel steppers featuring rows of BARs, sevens and cherries.

By bringing traditional games to GoldenNuggetCasino.com, game manufacturer Everi is finally giving traditional slot lovers the kind of games they want, but in an all-new, instantly accessible format, said Marshall Adair, vice president and executive director, digital and interactive for Nevada-based Everi.

“A lot of land-based players want to play online, but they haven’t had the library available to them,” Adair said. “The three-reel stepper player in general is not only a significant bright spot in our land-based library, but this is a significantly underserved market online. We’re serving a player that hasn’t yet made it fully online, simply because the library doesn’t support it. It’s a huge kind of strategic point we leaned into in the first year of our RGS (remote gaming system).”

Everi’s RGS uses advanced system architecture to develop and distribute player-preferred content directly to operators—including award-winning three-reel mechanical games and video slots, all built to deliver the exact same look, game features, and math as their land-based counterparts. All can be played in either landscape or portrait mode, so they’re just as much fun on a smartphone as they are on a laptop or tablet.

It was important, Adair told GGB News, to fully replicate the land-based experience for mobile players. “We put a lot of effort into the fidelity of the actual game play—it doesn’t feel like a video rip-off or a more complicated version” of the games people prefer, he said.

David Lucchese, Everi’s executive vice president of games, agreed that online players can expect “virtually the same experience” that they’d find at their favorite casino slot game.

Importantly, the games gives classic slot players a reason to migrate online, said Lucchese. “We’ve been doing land-based games for years, but started just a couple of years ago on the online side, so we’re in a little bit of catchup mode. Our ultimate goal is to offer all our land-based games online, so players can use whatever medium they choose for their gambling entertainment.”

Another plus: the classic games are intuitive—enjoyable, exciting, but not intimidating. “People don’t have to learn anything,” Adair said. “If you’ve never played slots before, you tend to think of that iconic example: a three-reel stepper game with a pull handle. An online version of that model wasn’t really available in the digital space for the most part until we entered the market. There’s a lot more walkup potential built into that style of game, which absolutely speaks to the loyal long-term player and the new player as well not.”

The RGS currently supports 30 titles and is expected to exceed 50 by the end of the year, with new games rolling out over time.

By bringing traditional three-reel steppers online, Everi is “bridging the gap between land-based and online,” and finally giving traditional slot lovers what they want, said Adair—a lineup of games they truly love, and a way to play them anytime, anywhere.
