Firth Named GM of Genting’s Blackpool

Former hotel valet Jim Firth, a 25-year veteran of the hospitality industry, has been named general manager of Genting’s Blackpool casino and restaurant in London.

Genting has announced the appointment of Jim Firth as general manager of its Blackpool casino and restaurant, which reopened last November following a million renovation.

Firth started his career in the hospitality industry and has worked in a number of casinos from London to Glasgow, reported the Blackpool Gazette. Prior to his appointment, he spent 11 years with Gala Coral Group in a range of senior roles including operations development director and regional manager for the North and Western U.K. His experience also includes roles at Ladbrokes and Stakis casinos.

“This is an exciting time to join the Genting team,” said Firth. “The refurbishment has transformed this iconic venue into a stylish destination which offers something for everyone, from the elegant restaurant and bar area to a high quality gaming floor.

“We now have a great platform to build on and I look forward to working with my team, local business leaders and the community.”
