Fontainebleau Loses Fourth Executive Since Opening

Fontainebleau Las Vegas recently confirmed the departure of another executive, now the fourth since the property opened in December.

Angie Dobney, former vice president of revenue management, has resigned from her role—in an email to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the company said, “We thank her for her contributions and wish her well in the future.”

Per LinkedIn, Dobney has decades of operational experience, including stints at Hard Rock and Station Casinos. She also served in various advisory and consulting roles prior to joining Fontainebleau.

Dobney’s departure is yet another bad sign for the North-Strip property, which just opened on December 13. In the weeks since, Fontainebleau has lost its COO, Colleen Birch, its CMO, Shane Smith, and its senior vice president of casino operations, Michael Clifford.

In the leadup to the opening, Fontainebleau also reportedly parted ways with its original president, Cliff Atkinson, as well as Clifford’s predecessor, Dan Cherry.

Stephen Singer and Marc Guarino, the property’s initial chief financial officer and chief technology officer, respectively, also left before opening. The same goes for Dianna Balabon, who briefly served as acting chief marketing officer.

While most around the industry believe that the property has all the tools it needs to succeed, its difficult location and lack of a customer base will be steep challenges to overcome in the coming weeks and months.
